We, the undersigned, representing the elected trade union leaders, the steering committees, and the preparatory committees of recognized professional bodies,
declare the commencement of a Trade Union Front to stop the war and build democracy.
We have begun working toward the establishment of a broader Civil Front that include the steering and preparatory committees of recognized professional bodies, resistance committees, civil society organizations, initiatives, official diaspora bodies representing Sudanese abroad, national and academic figures, as well as political parties and alliances that seek to end the war and build democracy in Sudan.
Objectives of the Trade Union Front:
To unify Sudanese civil forces and exert pressure to immediately stop the war and complete the goals of the glorious December Revolution.
To exclude the military institution from the economy and political life, ensure its return to the barracks, dissolve the Rapid Support Forces and all parallel armies and armed militias, and establish a single national army based on a patriotic doctrine, adopting the principle of reform as a fundamental mechanism.
To inquire into all crimes and human rights violations committed before and after the war that began on April 15, 2023, and to bring those responsible to national and international justice.
To urgently address the living crisis by developing an economic program that tackles Sudan’s economic and social collapse, including the restoration of health and education services and rebuilding what the war has destroyed.
To preserve the sovereignty and unity of the Sudanese state and its institutions, and to renounce all forms of racism, regionalism, and tribalism.
